NYC Beer Garden Options are Growing!

If you’ve weathered this past NYC winter you deserve the opportunity to relax outside with a beer. Luckily, the number of beer gardens in New York City is growing so you’ll probably find one in your neighborhood. Check out this list:

The Lab at Khemistry Bar
This outdoor space serves 10 craft brews including Queens Lager, Harpoon Cider and Founders All Day IPA as well as frozen cocktails, wine, sliders, and Mazie’s Bites fish tacos.

Radegast Hall & Biergarten is a popular Williamsburg hangout. Unlike most beer gardens in NYC, this one is indoor, but the windows and big and the party often spills out into the sidewalk. There is plenty of beer to drink here, including many from Germany you may have never heard of. They have tastings on Tuesdays, live music many nights, Sunday brunch. 113 N. Third St., Williamsburg,

The Bronx Brewery Beer.  Drink house brews (including hot pepper beer) and play brewery-themed board games or cornhole in the big back yard of the Bronx Brewery. 856 East 136th Street in Port Morris.

The Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden, open for more than 100 years, is the oldest beer garden in NYC.  The Bohemian also serves food off a large, traditional Czech and Slovak menu. There’s fried Muenster, over lettuce with marinara and tartar sauce, goulash, homemade potato pasta with sauerkraut and of course, pierogies, bratwurst and potato pancakes. 29-19 24th Ave., Astoria,

Blue Ribbon Beer Garden is a great place to be on the LES on a warm afternoon. There is lots beer and barbecue and the beer garden has a new “Montauk Surf Theme.” 190 Allen St.,

Bavarian native and Alphabet City resident Sylvester Schneider opened Zum Schneider in 2000. There are both indoor and outdoor areas at Zum Schneider’s. 107 Ave. C, 

In one of the most grand spaces in the city, located under the High Line, The Standard Biergarten has great beer and food courtesy of chef Kurt Gutenbrunner. 848 Washington St.,

Studio Square is a new beer garden and events space in Long Island City. They host soccer game viewing parties, concerts and much more in the 30,000-square-foot space. This is not a traditional beer hall but there are lots of outdoor picnic tables for drinking beer with friends. 35-33 36th St., Long Island City,
